The thought of reviving old projects never crossed my mind, but it's a fantastic idea!
Also because we are totally normal, well adjusted people, a friend and I have a running (SFW) joke about virga anytime it shows up on the weather reports at work.
Thoughtful and thought-provoking as always. Thanks for the tip on Nilůfer Yanya -- I dig what I've heard so far.
Regarding "Inspiration as everywhere," have you read Rick Rubin's The Creative Act: A Way of Being? If not, I think you would appreciate it (given what I know of you from your posts, to be fair!). Rubin talks about all of the things around as "the source" and discussed the process of how we meld, blend, and whittle them into our final products. It's written from a musical perspective given his career, but his thoughts and approach apply to any creative field.
While some of his thoughts were common ground for me as a songwriter, I still appreciated his take on them and his placing of them in a broader way of thinking and being.
I've loved the bits Jes has posted from her postcard calendar project... you reminded me to snap to it!! On order.
Loved too following your threads, the twists and turns that bring us all from one inspirational nook to another. There's a kind of kinship I feel with you, with it, that's just super cool. I do a lot of restoration work, of old stuff (furniture mostly, but currently, an afghan my great aunt crocheted likely in the 60s), but what you're saying about repurposing it totally different. Pushing a few buttons, my friend! TY!!

Well I just learned a weather term!
When you work outside, rain that never hits the ground quickly becomes your favorite. 😀

I have not read that book. I’ll add it to my list!

So glad it resonated with you Bree. I too, am repurposing an end table that belonged to my great grandmother!
Isn’t it so special?? It’s so tangible, the reconnecting to our elders through the things they touched and used.
i love these ideas about séance and séance of self!
Thank you! when you think about it in a different way it’s as if there’s some lightness to it.
