This newsletter was inspired after a few different happy hours with a few different friends where I shared creative musings and discoveries.
At the end of the happy hour or coffee meetup, each friend had a similar goodbye,

To share my love of the art, music and other inspiring tidbits that cross my path, I present to you, The Radio Room!

Like most radio stations, it’s a space where you get information.
Here in The Radio Room, I relate life moments to song lyrics through creative writing and deep thinking.
You’ll also hear about my artist journey and my radio show, Electric Radio Club.
About the curator
My name is Joi (pronounced as Jo-Ee)
I am a multi-disciplinary artist and music curator.
I started out as a painter which somehow led me to a background in fashion design..
I’ve worked in a variety of mediums from photography, design, painting, screen printing and video editing.
My work has been displayed in various locations such as the Joslyn Museum, The Kaneko, Chicago's Union Station, Millwork Commons and the Cadillac Theater.
Currently, I work as a video collage artist.
All my art is inspired by song lyrics.
So it’s no surprise to many that I have a radio show.
You’re in good hands when it comes to discovering new music
I’ve been a music lover my entire life, thanks to a family that loves listening to a variety of music and grew up in a time when MTV actually played music videos.
I also love playing music but do not consider myself a professional. I know notes!
My radio show, Electric Radio Club, was born out of my love of making mixtapes for friends because I want them to discover and support new bands!
